The meeting, organized by RIFIUTIamoli collaboration with the Environment Committee Pro Senise, there have been doctors, teachers, geologists at the University of Basilicata, journalists, associations and local committees who have expressed their strong disappointment at the construction of a landfill for hazardous waste near the dam Montecotugno.
Some have called the event a conference on "part". We would like therefore to stress once again (for the umpteenth time) that it is the Committee that the Association Pro Environment Senise RIFIUTIamoli were born to express aloud the total and absolute disagreement with the realization of this landfill. We have not set up to analyze the pros and cons of this project but to argue strongly and clearly .
Who supports institutions and individuals have been offended, we say that each of the guests did not simply express their opinion and their disagreement on the project. Many shouted their anger. Attending to the environmental havoc in Lucania, live illness and death of loved ones aware of the fact that the quality of life is much worse, can not leave us helpless. Read the latest release of the Italian Pediatrics that the increase in childhood cancers (under one year of age) is most likely due to maternal exposure to toxic substances or gametes, can not and must not leave us indifferent.
This is the tragedy that we live in a society that is getting high, very high levels of immorality.
There's nothing personal, then, nor in our political battle. Many of us have no experience of life in this area that allows us to challenge the political classes whose work frankly not even know it. We oppose the violence exclusively and lack of respect towards our country.
Some of us will not be Lucania, of course. But we were born on this planet and we will defend our Mother Earth (and only one for all) and always with all our strength.

Put us in a position to live the Lake Montecotugno to reopen the abandoned huts of the Pollino National Park, to propose new ways to discover and explore this wonderful landscape.
The Environment Committee Senise Pro takes advantage of this statement to express solidarity with the people of Terzigno which these days is fighting a battle that we hope not to have to face here in Senise and throughout the Lucania, we stand with the mothers and with citizens who defend the right to health.
We are very thankful, then, who attended the October 9 without any type of contribution in economic terms. We thank those who helped us in a professional and technical to understand the drama that we would end up in landfill deal if this was actually achieved. We thank everyone, even those who have gone almost completely off topic during his speech, we also thank those guests who have challenged their knowledge in some technical assistance especially calling them "old and boring."
